The global adventures of the Ripl team
Here at Ripl, we're a small, close-knit team. We share each other's highs and lows, and learn from each other every day. We've seen in your Ripl designs and heard from you directly, that one of the most rewarding things about running a small business is that you get to know your customers and coworkers personally. In that spirit, we wanted to share little more about our own small business team here at Ripl!
As a global-reaching business (Ripl is now being used in over 150 countries!), we relish the chance to learn more about the different small businesses that are using Ripl. It's inspiring to watch restaurant owners, retail store operators, community group leaders, and many others run small businesses everywhere we go. Every entrepreneur recognizes that same hustle, ambition, and drive in someone else, anywhere else in the world.
Recently, a few Ripl team members were lucky enough to travel to some far-flung locations. In addition to sharing their stories with you, these Ripl designs are good examples of how you too can embed Ripl creations in your own blog or website. It's as simple as saving it to your device, uploading it on to Vimeo or YouTube and then using their embed link—just like we did here!
Without further ado, please enjoy seeing how Mason (Development Engineer), Christine (Customer Success Advocate), and Henry (Content Developer) expanded their horizons.
Mason - China
My fiancé and I went back to my hometown, Tianjin, China, for our wedding. It was great to see all my family, parents, and friends again.
You don’t need to bring your wallet to Tianjin, because you can pay for anything on your phone. Also, you don’t need to rent a car, because you can get anywhere with metro and shared bicycles.
The best moment for me was definitely my wedding. We got married at the Shangri La Hotel, which is next to Hai River. It's a good place to stay if you visit Tianjin; the view was beautiful and the food was delicious.
Christine - New Zealand
I recently travelled to Auckland, New Zealand to visit my sister who is currently living there. It was incredible to spend time with her after not seeing each other for a year!
My favorite moments from the trip were Glamping at Lake Wainamu, visiting the geo-thermal pools in Rotorua, and wine tasting on Waiheke Island.
If you visit New Zealand, I highly recommend exploring as many restaurants as you can in Auckland—they are all so unique, with complex flavors. Try Amano, XuXu, Bedford Meatballs and hit up Giappo for dessert!
Henry - Italy
My girlfriend and I traveled all over Italy on a motorcycle and stopped by Florence, Rome, Siena, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast, Venice, Bologna, and the Cinque Terre. One of my best friends got married in Tuscany, and since we had never been to Europe, we made a trip out of it.
My favorite moment was booking a boat tour around the Island of Capri. We had and amazing day swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, soaking up the sunshine and drinking Grappa. At sunset, I asked her to marry me and she said yes!
I recommend other travelers visit Italy during the off season, for example: in late September - October or April - May. If you don’t know how to ride a motorcycle, rent a vespa or scooter to get around; it saves travel time and makes parking easier.
