1. Post During Optimal Times

A nice thing about scheduling posts on social media is that you can optimize your posting schedule. When posting to social media, there are optimal days and times to post that help you get more engagement from your audience. These may vary slightly depending on your industry, but generally, the best times to post on social media are:

Facebook: Thursday- Sundays, 1 – 4 PM.

Instagram: Wednesday and Friday, 9 AM, 1 PM and 5 PM

Twitter: Monday- Friday, 8 AM & 12 PM & 6 PM

LinkedIn: Tuesday- Thursday, 10 AM – 12 PM

2. Create A Social Media Calendar

The key to business is planning, and this applies to your social media posts as well. Now that you have the power to post across social media at your fingertips, you can make a social media calendar for the month. Figure out what you want to post, and when. Make sure to space out your posts appropriately. Once you create your calendar, you’ll find posting on social media is a breeze.

To create your social media calendar, you have plenty of options. You can use a traditional printed calendar, a traditional planner, or create an online version such as Google Calendar. Just make sure that your calendar is easy to access and edit for any potential changes.

3. Create Content Variety

For social media, you want to have a variety of different types of content to interest your audience. Your followers will very quickly lose interest if you post the same type of content all the time. Create posts about different topics. Some content ideas are holiday posts, customer appreciation, employee of the month, new products, and special events. Get creative with it!

Ripl can help you with ideas on what to post in our Inspire Feed. Just tap the lightbulb in the home screen to see suggestions in the “Your Daily Inspiration” section. You can scroll forwards for future dates.

Besides different topic ideas, post different formats of content: such as photos, videos, interesting articles, or announcements. Photos and video content typically have higher engagement rates. Re-posting interesting articles may be a good way to gain publicity, especially if the article author retweets your post. Announcements are great if you have an important message to send to your customers.

4. Analyze Past Content to See What Performed Best

Finally, to create a good social media strategy, you need to analyze your past content to see what worked and what didn’t. All social media platforms summarize the engagement rates for your posts. Study the number of likes, comments, and shares that have occurred on your posts. Thankfully, Ripl also summarizes your engagement stats regularly to help you figure out which of your past posts performed the best. Determine which recent posts were more popular and why.

Using this knowledge, create new posts that will have an impact on your audience, and schedule your future posts based on what you learned about timing. By following these steps, you’ll see your social media presence bloom.
